Brynn's first night at home went really well...she's a pretty good sleeper, just like her mommy! She woke up every 2-3 hours, as to be expected with a newborn, but went right back to sleep after her feedings. Hopefully she keeps this up so mommy and daddy can get some sleep too!
We made it home from the hospital on Friday afternoon and were so excited to show Brynn her new home! Gavin was excited to see Brynn again, but was mostly interested in her when she cried. He is going to be a great big brother!
Here's Brynn in action...learning to love her pacifier...
Brynn is doing well...eating, sleeping and pooping :) Here are a couple of pictures for your viewing pleasure...
Dawn went to her weekly doctors appointment this morning, only to find that the amniotic fluid surrounding Brynn was depleting. They're not quite sure why, but decided that there was no reason to wait another week to have the c-section. So, at 5:00 this evening, we went into the OR and about 15 minutes later, Brynn arrived!! She was 6 lbs 8 oz and 18.25 inches long. She's a petite little girl :) We think she looks identical to Gavin when he was born (only with slightly different parts)! She's beautiful and healthy and we are so happy to be able to hold her in our arms. Thank you all for all the prayers and help today...we have such great friends and family!! Brynn looks forward to meeting all of you...
We met Grandma and Grandpa at the outlet mall in San Marcos on Sunday and ate lunch at a little antique shop across the street. They had some old timey cars out front that Gavin really enjoyed playing with.
Gavin had his first 'rib bones' on Saturday night...and licked the bone clean. Definitely a product of Johnathan...
The whole family (Johnathan, Dawn, Gavin, Riley and Brynn [via Dawn]) went to Paws on the Patio, hosted by the Helotes Humane Society, at Floore's Country Store on Sunday. It was a great place for Riley to meet new friends and for Gavin to show off his 'all boy' mentality - run around and play in the dirt, hide behind port-o-potties, climb on picnic tables and play with the John Deer Gator. We had a great time with all of our friends we met there and Riley had a good time with her new buds...
We put Brynn's car seat in the living room so that we'd remember to clean it up and get it ready for her. Well, Gavin saw it and decided that it looked like a great recliner where he could watch football on a Saturday morning. I came out of the kitchen and saw him reclined, staring at the TV and watching Sportscenter. Yup, just like his daddy...
Gavin discovered pen and paper and really enjoys scribbling daddy's 'order' down. We're hoping that he doesn't ever realize how much fun writing on the wall can be...
